You should always take the capsules with a meal and plenty of water. Firstly, some people experience mild nausea when taking zinc on an empty stomach. Secondly, taking them with food can improve the absorption of the ingredients, especially the fat-soluble ones.
Apart from that, the timing of intake and the distribution of the daily dose are completely secondary. If the daily portion of 6 capsules is too large for you, you can also divide it between your meals (e.g., three capsules each with breakfast and dinner, or two capsules each in the morning, at noon, and in the evening).
